Tunisia’s Hatem Trabelsi, a former Ajax star, has given his opinion on the level of parity that has dominated many of the matches at the current World Cup in America, Mexico and Canada.

The first round of the group stage saw a number of teams stand out, even though the nominations were not in their favour, such as Egypt, Qatar, Japan, Cape Verde and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This is on top of the fact that many teams look good despite their losses to teams that have been nominated to compete for the title.

Today, Wednesday, in the analytical studio of the beIN Sports match between Portugal and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Trabelsi said: “When we watch those matches, we have to welcome the Moroccan team.”

“Morocco broke the barrier of fear by reaching the 2022 World Cup and reaching the semi-finals at the expense of the big teams in world football.”

Trabelsi continued. “Teams are playing games with a fear that’s incomparable to what happened in the past, and that’s why you’re seeing the differences gradually disappear.”

He continued. “Congo started the game with fear until Portugal scored and when the second goal didn’t score, Congo played better and grabbed the tie.”

He continued. “When he coaches a team with big names, the problem arises and that was evident in his changes against Congo today where he looked at the names.”

He concluded. “There are 10 players playing for Messi in Argentina. Martinez should have developed Portugal’s game in the same way and made 10 players play for Ronaldo, who gave nothing today.”
