The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have accepted an offer to stay in the royal residence with their two children when they visit England next month.
Harry and Meghan, along with their son Archie Seven and daughter Lilybeth, will be guests of the monarch on the royal estate for their first trip to Britain in four years.
The royal residence they use has not been revealed to the public.
The family will stay in the UK for a few days. They will also stay in private accommodation during their trip.
Prince Harry is visiting Britain to kick off the year-long Invictus Games countdown for injured military personnel in Birmingham next July.
After moving to California, they are expected to visit other charities in the UK.
On previous visits, Prince Harry has turned down requests to stay at Buckingham Palace because he was concerned about using such a high-profile and visible building.
Last year, Prince Harry lost his legal battle to get police protection while visiting England.
In an interview with BBC News after the decision, Prince Harry expressed his desire to make “reconciliation” with the royal family. He said that he was worried that there would be no problem in bringing his wife and children back to his country of birth.
“I can’t see a world at this point where I’m going to send my wife and children back to England and what they’re going to miss is, well, everything,” Prince Harry said. “You know I love my country, I always have, even if some people in the country do.”
While exact security arrangements for next month’s trip have not been made public, it is understood that no additional security has been provided by Buckingham Palace.
Any additional security provision will be a matter for the Home Office.
The last time the monarch will see his grandchildren in person is on Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
Last September, Prince Harry had tea with his father at Clarence House, their first face-to-face meeting since February 2024.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor representatives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would comment on the possibility of the monarch meeting with his son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, which is a private family matter.
