Erling Haaland scored two late goals to send Norway into the first quarter-final of the World Cup with A stunning 2-1 win over Brazil which condemned the five-time champions to their first exit since 1990.

Nyland came to Norway’s rescue again, making a great impact on Martinelli’s low drive as it crossed the goal, denying Guimaraes with a simple tap-in.

When Martin Odegaard lost on the edge of the box, Nyland saved Norway again when he stuck out a leg to thwart Vinicius Junior.

Haaland struggled to make much of an assist, but his energy led to Norway’s glorious opener before the end of the half.

Norway coach Stale Solbakken brought on Oscar Bobb and Andreas Schjelderup at the break for Antonio Nusa and Alexander Sorloth, but it was Endrick’s introduction that almost changed the game.

Vinicius skipped past Endrick on goal with a delightful outside-foot pass, only for the youngster to make a huge save as Nyland came out to block him.

Nyland continued to frustrate Brazil, making a fine save to keep out Rayan’s fierce strike before stopping again to deny Guimaraes, even as the flag went up.

Schjelderup whipped in a cross from the left and rose above Gabriel to head into the corner.

As Brazil chased down an equaliser, a stunning finger save from defender Nyland prevented Ajer from firing the ball into his own net.

Haaland gave Norway a break when he headed in a corner from the edge of the box in the 90th minute.

It became important when Neymar converted a goal in the 10th minute of stoppage time, led by a foul by Nyland, following an elbow on Casemiro.
