Grammy-nominated producer Tay Keith, who worked with Drake and Travis Scott, dies at 29 | Music


Grammy-nominated producer Tay Keith, who works with Drake, Travis Scott and Beyoncé, was found dead in her home in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 29.

Keith, whose real name was Brytavious Chambers, was found at the home after police carried out a search on Thursday afternoon.

“No foul play is suspected,” the Metro Nashville Police Department said through Xand the cause of death is still unknown.

Keith co-produced two of the biggest hits of 2018, Travis Scott’s Sicko Mode, which reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and Drake’s Nonstop, which entered No. 2 on the same chart that same year.

In 2018, Keith co-founded the Memphis-based music and production label Drumatized Music Group with his manager, Cambrian Strong. The duo was featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30 music list in 2024.

The hip-hop producer received two Grammy awards; the first in 2019 for Sicko Mode, and the second in 2024 for Drake and 21 Savage’s Rich Flex.

Born and raised in Memphis, Keith began producing music at the age of 14, and has worked with many talented artists in his career, including BeyoncéCardi B, Eminem, Future, Lil Nas X and Miley Cyrus.

He recently released Megan Thee Stallion’s 2024 album Megan, Jack Harlow’s single Just Us featuring Doja Cat, and Travis Scott’s single 4×4, all released in 2025.

One of Keith’s early collaborators, rapper BlocBoy JB, shared a broken heart emoji. Instagram stories in response to the news. “Damn Cuz You Just Hurt Me Badly,” she wrote, sharing a photo of her and Keith together, followed by a log of calls between the pair. He wrote: “We talked every day and he told me that you were leaving.”
