Administrative problems plague the boys’ team
South Africa’s sports minister Gayton McKenzie said on Sunday that his country’s national team will leave for the 2026 World Cup tomorrow, Monday, a day later than planned, after all players received visas to travel through the United States.
The team was due to fly on a private jet to their training camp in Pachuca, Mexico, but that was delayed while the South African Football Association tried to complete the required paperwork, with administrative issues delaying the matter.

The federation, on the other hand, has not yet confirmed the team’s departure and plans to hold an emergency meeting later to discuss the matter, Reuters reports.
The Republic of South Africa will hold the opening match of the World Cup on June 11 in Mexico City with one of the host countries of the tournament, Mexico.
In Group A, it will also face the Czech Republic (June 18) in Atlanta (USA) and South Korea (June 24) in Monterrey, Mexico.
