Google has announced its next Made by Google event, which will take place on August 12 in New York City. Google’s announcement doesn’t mention any names, but the image shows a new Pixel phone that looks a lot like last year’s phone. Some new rumors, however, suggest that the updated phones will come with price tags courtesy of Lack of AI-driven components.
The sleek lines of the phone in the teaser image are the death knell of Google’s last few Pixel phones, and this is consistent with some early rumors. The new Google phones will have a similar design, with the Pro and Pro Fold models likely to be slightly shaved. The most interesting change will be the “Pixel Glow” lights, background information and visible light.
Recent reports it is said that Google is finally removing the 128GB storage option for smaller phones. In 2025, both the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro started at 128GB of storage, a bit lacking for a modern device at a time when people don’t upgrade often. Google says it will move to 256GB as a storage option for both phones.
