Although the court has not yet signed a major decision to end Epic’s lawsuit against Google for its monopoly on the Android app store and Google Play, The tech giant has said it will start rolling out updates how it handles payments to manufacturers around the world. As announced in Marchthe 30 percent fee is being replaced by a “low, pass-through fee” that partially eliminates the fees and charges at the store.
How will Google cut the sales now it depends if it belongs to the user whose first installation came before or after the launch of the new system, the amount earned by the developer, and whether or not the developer uses the payment method of Google Play and its 5 percent extra, instead of another method or linking to their website.
For apps that generate more than $1 million in annual revenue, this will be 20 percent on new in-app purchases and 10 percent on subscriptions. However, Google has also announced the Games Level Up and Apps Experience programs of “special” and “premium” that meet its guidelines for working on platforms (such as tablets, smart TVs, or Android Auto), meet the memory usage indicators and damage rates, and the resources it promotes (such as cloud storage or signature) to qualify for discounts on new and existing installations.
Some software changes will go into effect in some locations at the end of September, before the end of the year, before rolling out globally after September 30, 2027.
