Google might not rock the Pixel 11a with an older processor

Mystic Leaks suggests that the Pixel 11a will return to have a high-end processor and Tensor G6. Replaces the Tensor G5 found in the Pixel 10 and 10 Proand Pixel 10a shipped with the previous generation Tensor G4. This was very disappointing since, in most cases, the Pixel group keeps the current processor, but reduces in some areas to keep the price down.

The Tensor G6 is said to have the same PowerVR DXT-48-1536 GPU as the G5, but it should be an upgrade to the Mali-G715 in the Tensor G4. The biggest upgrade is that the G6 moves away from Samsung’s Exynos modem and instead uses a MediaTek M90 modem. This should help with two major problems that have plagued Tensor chips for a long time – battery drain and signal drop.

The Pixel 11a is expected to have a smaller battery, 4,870mAh, compared to 5,000mAh, but the improved performance of the new processor means that battery life should be the same or slightly improved. The display will still be a 6.3-inch 1080 x 2424 panel with a resolution of 60 to 120Hz. But it will achieve a maximum brightness of 3,350 nits, up from 3,000 on the 10a.
