The Fitbit app is no longer available. Along with the new setup Fitbit Air (which you can expect to fully review when we have more time), Google said replaced by Google Healththat has already been announcedand most of the responses we’ve seen so far are full of confusion, frustration, and requests to bring back the old program.
One post on Reddit mentions a common issue, saying, “I can’t even load my home screen. There are only two main tiles available and I can’t scroll down to see anything.” The home page has a small section at the top that shows steps and some basic statistics, but part of the main page of the app is reserved for the latest updates and chat posts from Google’s AI trainer.
AI didn’t have much to say to me, but to my editor-in-chief, Richard Lawler, it started a conversation about today’s plans that aren’t ready to have a chatbot.
Not everyone is annoyed by the AI bot though, just one person giving feedback“When I ask him to do a slow workout using the gym equipment in my office, circuit style, I usually feel better afterwards.” Another person called it “a very useful thing,” showing how they were able to replace their sleep log with the missing part of chatting with an AI bot.
Someone user said, “This UI design looks like something an 8-year-old could design,” while another he complained“Why do I now have to look at AI slop paragraphs on every tab before I can see what I’m doing with my data?
One post on Google’s help center sums things up, saying, “This program is very frustrating and takes a long time to get limited results. How can I start using what has helped?!” Many others agreed, with one answer to say“it’s not really a fitness program.”
On Google’s blog page, its prototype image shows the current interface with all the notifications and AI chats that we couldn’t show, but were visible to some users. There is none it seems like every way remove the Ask Coach / task window that takes up a lot of the screen, but the bot can be stopped within the new Feature Privacy Controls program.

Even though I knew the Google Health update was coming, I was confused for a few minutes when I opened the app this morning.
If you want to see more about your statistics and health indicators, you should scroll to the left in the small box at the top of the “Today” page or tab to the “Health” page. To access my rowing exercise logs that I saved in the old Fitbit app, I had to go to “Health,” then to the “Fitness” section in the “Focus areas,” where my notes appeared under “Exercise Days.” In the old Fitbit app, I could see the “exercise days” log just by looking at the app’s main “Today” page.
According to support pageif you have a wearable connected, Google Health shows two additional tabs for Fitness and Sleep which would make things easier, but before I reconfigured that I didn’t need it. While Google is Rishi Chandra he said Seaside earlier this month that Google Health will finally support third-party wearables, Nothing Watch Pro 3 is currently not enough to open the two additional tabs.
