The Project Aura glasses collaboration between Xreal and Google is now one step closer to becoming a product you can buy. Reservations for the second Android XR devicewhich is now called Xreal Aura, is available $99 starting todaywith a full launch in the US, UK, Japan, Canada, and South Korea expected sometime this Fall.
Xreal Aura follows Google’s first Android-powered XR device, the Samsung Galaxy XR headsetwhich is set at $1,799 in October 2025. We still don’t have the full price of the Aura – which Google previously described as a “glass-like headset” – but Best Buy will be the first to sell it in-store when it becomes available. Xreal also said that those who book within two weeks of the launch will receive a $199 credit on their final purchase later this year, “saving you $100 on the final price.”
As part of the information for this deposit, we also know that the Xreal Aura weighs less than 95 grams, and is powered by the new Snapdragon Reality Elite device, Qualcomm’s latest XR platform. The chip, integrated with Google’s Android XR, aims to help Aura glasses meet the demands of “better experiences, higher performance, greater intelligence, and stronger optimization,” according to a statement from Qualcomm’s XR chief, Ziad Asghar.
We may learn more about the upcoming launch after Xreal showcases the Aura glasses at the Augmented World Expo, which is running between June 15th-18th in Long Beach, California.
