The Ghana team showed great defensive toughness
Ghana made African history for defensive solidity at the World Cup after keeping clean sheets in their first two matches at the 2026 World Cup, becoming the fifth African team to achieve the feat in the tournament’s history.
The tally came after Ghana’s 1-0 win over Panama in the first round, followed by a 0-0 draw with England in the second round yesterday, Tuesday, leaving his clean sheet so far.

According to French network stats foot, Cameroon in 1982, Morocco in 1986 and Nigeria in 2014, before Morocco repeated the feat again at the 2022 World Cup, with Ghana joining them in 2026.
Despite picking up a valuable point against England, Ghana continued to suffer offensively as they became the only team at the 2026 World Cup to keep a clean sheet in the first half in any of their matches so far.
Ghana also became the second team in World Cup history to go two consecutive first halves without a goal, equaling the record set by Costa Rica in 1990, according to statistics network Opta.
