The French capital, Paris, has been in chaos since its former club, PSG, won the Champions League title for the second time in its history.
Paris Saint-Germain were crowned Europe’s top club champions on Saturday by beating Arsenal on penalties after a 1-1 draw after extra time.
Although the match was held at the “Puskas Arena” stadium in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and although the French team won the championship title, the capital city of Paris witnessed many riots.
According to the French newspaper Le Parisien, some people gathered around the Parc des Princes stadium in the French capital Paris and rioted, including collecting and burning several cars.
Rioters in the capital of France tried to attack the police station and destroyed 6 cars and investigators, as well as injured a policeman.
French police forces intervened and fired tear gas to disperse the rioters, to prevent their large gatherings, which turned the Porte de Saint Cloud area, located near the Parc des Princes stadium, into a war zone.
The French police announced the arrest of 79 people, 45 of whom were taken for investigation, bringing the total to 130, and the number is likely to increase in the coming hours.
