Fujifilm’s X Half is more interesting and under the $300 price tag

Fujifilm is X Half digital camera It’s not designed to replace your main camera, though you’d be forgiven for thinking it was worth its $850 price tag. However, the company recently reduced the MSRP to $649.99, and is now knocking off an additional $100 until June 28th. That means you can grab the X Half in its base configuration for around $549 per Amazon, B&H photoand Best Buy. Adorama it’s also selling for the same price and throwing in a free bundle, which includes a 64GB SanDisk SD card and a camera lens.

The X Half is not like most other digital cameras. It’s a lightweight shooter designed to evoke the feel of a semi-framed film camera, capable of capturing 18-megapixel images that you can capture in multiple modes. You can add video simulations, filters, and grain. Digital diptychs are also possible, the latter is a chance to have a cooking day in pictures. In short, it’s a lot of fun, but it doesn’t have the features you might be used to in modern cameras, including the ability to shoot RAW images, a hot shoe for connecting devices, and an on-screen monitor.

When we published it our thoughts on hand last year, old On the edge Executive producer Vjeran Pavic called X Half fun and refreshing. Its 1-inch vertical sensor and 32mm equivalent f/2.8 lens can take great photos, but this pocket-friendly camera is designed for point-and-shoot simplicity. Pavic used to take “quick shots” with it, like our own Antonio Di Bennedeto, although he was turned off by the original price.
