Emma Raducanu’s French Open campaign came to a screeching halt with a first-round loss to Argentina’s Solana Sierra.
After failing to win a game in a thrilling first set that lasted just 25 minutes, the British number one battled back from a double-break in the second to force the final.
However, world number 68 Sierra could not see the result as she won 6-0 7-6 (7-4).
Radukan’s 2026 campaign has been disrupted by a post-viral illness that kept her out of the WTA Tour for more than two months following India’s Wells in March.
Her build-up to the French Open has not been good, with a first-round loss at the Strasbourg Open earlier this week.
