British duo Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid kicked off their bid for a seventh consecutive men’s wheelchair doubles title at the French Open with a comfortable quarter-final victory.
Hewett, 28, and Reed, 34, reached the semi-finals with a 6-0, 6-2 win over France’s Frederic Cattaneo and Brazil’s Daniel Rodriguez.
The Paris top seed reached four Grand Slam finals in 2025, winning the Australian Open and the French Open, but lost in his first major semi-final this year in Melbourne.
Hewett and Reed have not lost a doubles match together at Roland Garros since losing in the semifinals in 2019.
Hewett made it through The last eight of the singles event But Reed was knocked out by defending champion Tokito Oda of Japan on Tuesday.
Elsewhere on Wednesday, Andy Lapthorne and Greg Slade both crashed out at the quarter-final stage in straight sets from quad singles.
Lapthorne lost to second seed Nils Vink of the Netherlands 6-3, 6-2, while wildcard Slade lost to Turkey’s Ahmet Kaplan 6-0, 6-0.
