Ukrainian officials say at least four people have been killed and 10 injured in the latest Russian attack, a day after Moscow struck Kyiv. very deadly several attacks this year.

Two of the injured women are still in hospital, said Vilkul, adding that nine houses, a school building, a company, several shops, garages and about 10 cars were destroyed. Two residences also had their gas shut off.

Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and a major industrial center, has been under repeated attacks during the war.

European Union High Commissioner Kaja Kallas said she would impose new sanctions on Moscow over the attack.

Zelenskyy said his army would “retaliate” against the attacks from Wednesday to Thursday night, adding that Russian President Vladimir Putin was “planning a major attack on Ukraine for some time”.

Ukraine’s invasion of Russia

At least five people were killed overnight Friday in airstrikes by Ukrainian jets on the Russian border and in populated areas of Ukraine, while several factories were also damaged.

Ukraine has been disrupting Russia’s electricity supply for months in an effort to thwart Moscow’s military, which has led to Russian oil shortages.

Putin has said that the protests are supposed to cause tension between the people.

Russia shot down 155 Ukrainian drones overnight from Thursday to Friday on its territory and annexed Crimea, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

In the southern Russian province of Zaporizhzhia, Kremlin-appointed governor Yevgeny Balitsky said three people had died “in an attack on our peaceful and civilian shelter.”

Valentin Demidov, the mayor of the western Russian city of Belgorod, said a woman died in a car after being hit by shrapnel.

He said water and electricity in the city, which is 40 kilometers north of the border with Ukraine, have been disrupted.

Earlier on Friday, the Vesti newspaper, citing local officials, reported that the industrial complex caught fire after Ukraine attacked Belgorod and its surroundings with missiles.

Egor Kovalchuk, the governor-general of Bryansk, another Russian border region, said a man had died in the village following a drone attack.

A fire also broke out at an industrial site west of Smolensk after a drone attack there, although no injuries were reported, local governor Vasily Anokhin wrote on Telegram.

Russia’s Defense Ministry also said on Friday that Russian forces had captured the village of Oleksandrivka, in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region.
