Former director of the Federation. “Lies” are the cause of Hamdallah’s crises… and he has suffered injustice in Jeddah.

Former Saudi Al-Ittihad CEO Hamed Al-Balawi has expressed surprise at Moroccan Abdel Razzaq Hamdallah’s time with the Deccan, during which he faced some criticism over the way he left.

Al-Ittihad and Hamdallah reached an impasse in the summer of 2024 as the Moroccan striker refused to play as second-in-command to France’s Karim Benzema, so the contract between the two sides fell apart, after which he joined Al-Shabaab.

Regarding this issue, Al-Balawi said: “I was in close contact with Hamdallah at Al-Ittihad.” He is an honest person and does not like to lie. He wants to get the appreciation and praise he deserves because he is a great player and disciplined.

He added: “Hamdallah performed at an excellent level with Al-Ittihad and did not cause problems as mentioned earlier. He is the utmost professional and loves his job, but what happened to him upset him.”

He continued his speech. “Thank God, his wages were delayed for 6 months and he didn’t speak, he continued to train normally and play games, then he was treated unfairly by taking the number 9 from him and giving it to Benzema.”

He continued. “Hamdallah likes simplicity, and when he feels otherwise, he gets angry and goes off script. Some people see him as a troublemaker, but he is not, and his departure from Al-Shabaab and Al-Nasr was because of a lie.”

He concluded. “Al-Taawun will benefit greatly by signing Hamdallah as he is a useful player and likes honesty as I mentioned.”
