Forgot your Google password? You can now log in with a selfie.

Being locked out of an account is not fun. Google has several ways to help you regain access if you forget your password or lose your authenticator, including recovery codes and backup codes. Now, Google has a new solution: your face. You can now give Google a video of your face and log into your account with a selfie, which seems like something people will love.

You need to set this up in advance if you want to be able to access the account and selfie later. To get started, make sure your account type is valid. You won’t be able to edit selfie logins in Workspace accounts, child accounts, or any account enrolled in the Google Advanced Protection Program.

Setting up a selfie account requires you to record a video, which Google will store on its servers. Sign up for a selfie on Google landing page includes objections to privacy and access to data, promising that the company will keep the video private and will not use it for other purposes unless you sign in.
