The end of the Ford F-150 Lightning was also the beginning of a new era for the automaker. After failing to capture the market with an electric version of its popular F-Series sedan, Ford is going back to the drawing board with the Universal Electric Vehicle Platform.
The first donation will be a $30,000 electric car, designed to be functional and – perhaps more importantly – profitable. The car will be unveiled in 2027, but Ford plans to build the entire family of affordable electric vehicles at their Kentucky assembly plant.
