Damak regained their winning streak thanks to the brilliance of Guinea’s Moulay Sylla, who opened the scoring early in the 16th minute, before Algerian captain Abdelkader Badran put on the creative flair and dealt Al-Fayha two deadly blows, scoring two goals in a row and in the 775th minute.
With this big win, Damak breathed a sigh of relief and somewhat secured their position on the way to stay in the senior ranks, taking their score to 29 points, while Al-Fayha’s score was frozen with 38 points to beat Damak. But behind the scenes, the joy was short-lived as it became clear that Damac will officially miss the services of their midfield engineer and top scorer, Argentine Valentin Vada.
Injury has not been the cause of this shocking absence for the player who has featured in all 33 of his side’s matches this season, scoring 17 goals (scoring 11 and assisting 6). Rather, an accumulation of yellow cards led to his automatic suspension after he received his fourth caution on the night in the win over Al-Fayha, ending the headlines, and Damak was forced to contend with Al-Nasr without his most powerful weapon.
