Flick stabs Florentino Perez.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has mocked Real Madrid president Florentino Perez’s provocative comments after he accused Barcelona of corruption and using arbitration courtesy.

Flick’s response came after Barcelona went goalless in the Spanish league defeat to Alaves. This defeat ended the hopes of the Catalan team to reach the 100-point mark this season.

When the German coach was asked about Perez’s statements, he simply replied sarcastically and succinctly, saying: “I think this is something not worth answering.”

Away from controversy, Flick admitted his disappointment after the defeat to Alaves, especially as Barcelona conceded the only goal of the match in first-half stoppage time.

“Of course I’m disappointed with the result and with our defeat today, but we have to accept that because we played against a survival opponent and made the match very difficult.”

He added: “We conceded a goal in the last minute of the first half, and we should have been more focused at that moment.

The Barcelona coach noted that the game witnessed some positives, especially the continued provision of opportunities to young players, in addition to players who have suffered from the pressure of games in recent times.

He explained. “We managed game minutes for players who have been involved a lot recently and young players also got a new opportunity to participate.”

Flick concluded his remarks by emphasizing Barcelona’s desire to finish the season with two wins in the last two rounds of La Liga, despite losing the dream of reaching 100 points.
