FL Studio 2026 turns its AI chatbot into an assistant engineer

Last year, Line Line was launched Gopher about FL StudioAn AI chatbot that was actually a respectable instruction book. You asked them how to do something, and they will give the right advice. It’s the kind of thing I use AI for most of the time. But in the new release, Gopher can do that for you. I was able to ask the Gopher to lie down to hit the bottom-on-the-floor, with the snares on the back, and then add a clear voice to the ’80s pomp snare, and it delivered the instructions flawlessly.

Gopher has some weaknesses. It won’t automatically design and print for you. It cannot insert text or music into music tracks. And it cannot select presets within plug-ins. So, when you ask it to enhance the sound of a Rhodes electric piano, it will make way for a modified Flex instrument to be loaded, but finding the Rhodes patch is up to you. Image Line also says it doesn’t train its AI on user experience — your recording session is private.

A completely rebuilt Flex is one of the themes FL Studio 2026. Flex is Image Line’s flagship instrument, similar to Native Instruments Kontakt, with a number of sound packs that cover everything from classic synths, to real guitars, and amazing sound effects. The newly designed browser has changed the filters and categories, while the engine has received very little.

Image Line has also added cloud backup for FL Cloud subscribers’ projects with a new “audio logger” for full-time audio, which captures 60 seconds of high output so even if you forget to record, you can save the idea.

As always, FL Studio 2026 is available as a free upgrade.
