The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Referee Committee has announced the refereeing team responsible for officiating the upcoming 2026 World Cup Group 10 match between Argentina and Austria.
The commission assigned Egyptian referee Amin Omar, who will be assisted by Mahmoud Abu Al-Rijal and Ahmed Hossam Taha, and Spanish Alejandro Hernandez will be the fourth referee.
Amin Omar continues his presence in the tournament after his first appearance in a World Cup final, when he officiated the match between Czech Republic and South Korea, where he produced a standout performance that was widely praised by followers and observers.
The Argentine national team is in the tenth group with the national teams of Algeria, Austria and Jordan. The Tango Dancers, led by Lionel Messi, got off to the best start to their tournament after beating Algeria with three unanswered goals in the first round.
In a related context, the FIFA Referees Committee announced the refereeing team responsible for officiating the Algeria-Jordan match scheduled for next Tuesday as part of the second leg of the 2026 World Cup group stage.
The match will be led by the Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic, who will be assisted by his compatriots Tomai Klanchnik and Andrag Kovacic as assistant referees, and Jamaican Oshan Nation was chosen as the fourth referee.
The two teams are playing to make up for their loss in the first round, after Algeria suffered a heavy defeat against Argentina and Jordan lost 3-1 to Austria, making it crucial for both teams to qualify for the next round.
