Family ‘unimaginable loss’ after mother and daughters found dead

A family has spoken of their “unimaginable loss” after a mother and two children were found dead in their home.

Notabo Zandile Shuma, 42, and her daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, five, have been missing for several days following the discovery of their bodies on Monday when police forced their way into a home near Bedford.

“During this time of unimaginable loss, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who have reached out to us with prayers, messages of comfort and messages of support,” a family tribute released on Thursday said.

Bedfordshire Police are looking for 45-year-old Ndodana Makanisi Shuman, who left the country at Heathrow Airport on Saturday on an English passport.

A family statement released by police added: “Your kindness and compassion have brought great strength to our family.

“As their circumstances are the subject of an official investigation, we are unable to comment further at this stage.

We are awaiting instructions from the relevant authorities before confirming funeral and memorial arrangements.

He said an official update will be shared as more information is released.
