Failure No. 13: Griezmann registers his name among the “jinx legends” of the Champions League.

Once again, Antoine Griezmann, the star of “Atletico” Madrid, is unable to win the Champions League title, entering the history of the tournament from the back door.

Griezmann came close to leading his side to the final, but were beaten 1-0 by hosts Arsenal in the second leg of the semi-final on Tuesday night.

French network Statesfoot, which specializes in numbers, reported that Griezmann is the third player in Champions League history to have played the most matches without winning the title.

Today, the French star played his 120th match, and on this list he is preceded only by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gianluigi Buffon, who each played 124 matches.

It looks like Griezmann will not be able to leave this list, as the 35-year-old will not participate in the next European Championship, as he will leave Atletico Madrid at the end of the current season to join Orlando City in America.

Since 2013-2014, Griezmann has played 13 seasons in the Champions League for 3 clubs, all of them Spanish: Real Sociedad, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

In the list of unfortunates in Europe, Koke, the player of “Atletico” Madrid, in 4th place – 118 matches, and his partner Jan Oblak – 106 matches.

Kylian Mbappe, the former star of “Real Madrid” and “Paris Saint-Germain” ranks 9th with 98 matches.
