Both Wardley and Dubois are serious punchers, with a knockout ratio of 95%. Each has every intention of bringing that energy to this fight, with Dubois saying he’s “ready to seek and destroy.”

Wardley, meanwhile, said. “I hope he is in the best form of his life. I want to give the fans a big night and I hope he is too.”

Publicist Frank Warren said Sky Sports Before the fight: “Both move forward. Both drop bombs so you know it’s going to be exciting.”

He believes it will be a great three-round fight, a heavyweight version of Marvin Hagler vs. Tommy Hearns.

“I think that’s going to happen as soon as the bell rings. That’s how they fight,” Warren said. “They will both come forward. There will be no retreat.

“It’s definitely going to be a shootout for this fight.”

Daniel Dubois says he’s going to ‘collect the rubbish’ while Fabio Wardley said he could imagine Dubois being a bin man if he wasn’t a boxer in a social media interview.

Punch strength may be ‘his biggest downfall’

Shane McGuigan, who previously trained Daniel Dubois, warned that his punching power could actually get him into trouble.

McGuigan said Sky Sports: “I think Daniel is the better boxer, I think he’s the better all-round fighter. He’s got better balance, better jab, better fundamentals. Boxed a lot longer. They’re both great athletes, great punchers.

“But Daniel will probably try to knock him out. And that’s the worst thing you can do with Fabio Wardley because he’s most dangerous when he’s hurt, when he attacks. He’s always got that great puncher.

“I think the longer they’re in there, the more aggressive Daniel is, the more likely he’ll get knocked out.”

Daniel Dubios says he is heading into his WBO heavyweight title showdown with Fabio Wardley, as he seeks to become a two-time world champion.

McGuigan would admonish Dubois: “Make it boring. Stick him out. If you nail him, you nail him, keep it smart. Because this guy can’t beat you in a boxing match.

“Not everyone realizes how good Daniel’s jab is and how much he can control a fight with his feet and his jab. He can definitely control a fight against Fabio Wardley with his feet and his jab.”

But McGuigan pointed out: “Daniel’s a born puncher so he always wants to knock you out. But that will be his biggest downfall and I think he could walk away with a shot.

“I think he’ll win on points. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he walks by a point.”
