Eyewitnesses remembered how dangerous the fire that burned in the Bangkok bar was

Thai indie band Thotsakan was performing at a packed bar in Bangkok on Sunday when band manager Ice Atipat Wijarn sat on stage and saw smoke billowing from behind the keyboardist.

Keyboardist Kwong shouted for people to flee – and within seconds, a raging fire engulfed Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao in the city’s Chatuchak district.

Snow remembers screaming at the door in the smoke-filled room as he tried to escape. Then something exploded and threw him out of the bar.

At least 27 people died and dozens were injured in the fire, officials confirmed.

Kwang, along with Thotkakan singer Breeze and drummer Beau, died of injuries, according to a Facebook post from another band member, Patchara Songphatkau.

Male singer Dean’s whereabouts are still unknown.

“Maybe a miracle will happen,” wrote Patchara. “Let’s pray that things go well.”

Thotkakan’s lead singer Thik Chaichana escaped unharmed only because he went to the washroom before the fire, Thai media reported. Videos on the web showed him running from the burning bar, crying.

“I’m fine, thanks for all your concern. But my phone and all my belongings are on fire… my mind is really not right now,” Thicke wrote on Facebook.
