The former Argentina striker offers advice to his compatriot at a sensitive time in his career
Former Argentinian striker Hernan Crespo gave advice to his compatriot Julian Alvarez, the star of “Atletico” Madrid, who is a candidate to move to a new club in the upcoming summer transfer period.
The debate over the future of Alvarez, who finished his season with Atletico Madrid with 20 goals and nine assists in 49 games in all competitions, has not subsided, and is set to play in Tango’s jersey at the 2026 World Cup.
Despite denials from Atletico Madrid officials and Alvarez himself, several media reports have suggested the 26-year-old is close to a move to Barcelona this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain also interested in the player’s services.
Crespo and Alvarez share the fact that they are Argentine strikers, each starting their professional careers with River Plate before moving to Europe.
Crespo advised Alvarez to stay at Atletico Madrid, where he said. In an interview with Quora It will be published later. “Julian is already playing in one of the best clubs in the world, and that should also be appreciated. If he feels important and gets continuity, there’s no rush to leave.”
However, Crespo explained. “But Barcelona will always be a special club for any football player.”
The former striker of “Chelsea” concluded his speech by saying: “The most important thing is for him to make a decision based on his development and athletic happiness.”
