Everyone Has Their Own Goals Set for the MacBook Neo

However it is only $699 (or $599 for students). The XPS 13 makes a similar product to the MacBook Neo. First, it starts with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It also starts with a lower-end Intel Core 5 processor (note: not Intel Core Ultra). I’ll be interested to see how performance and battery life stack up against the MacBook Neo, but Dell is taking notes from Apple, which used an iPhone chip in the Neo instead of an M-series laptop processor.

What’s great about the Dell XPS 13, however, is that you can upgrade it properly. The MacBook Neo has both storage and memory, but the XPS 13 can be configured with up to 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.

I have been experimenting a lot $500 to $600 laptop recently from companies such as Acer, Lenovo, and HP, many of which take the popular Windows approach against the MacBook Neo by offering better notebooks at lower prices. Both have 16 GB of RAM and use powerful chips. But no one can argue with the MacBook Neo in terms of display and chassis. This does not mean that there is no such place HP OmniBook 3but it doesn’t play to the same audience as the Dell XPS 13 and MacBook Neo.

Wrong Way

There will undoubtedly be a company that thinks they can ride on the success of the MacBook Neo without understanding what makes it possible. Last week, Microsoft announced two versions of the Surface Laptop for Business PCs: a high-end 13.8-inch model and a cheaper 13-inch device. The 13.8-inch model is very refreshing, using the latest Intel technology Core Ultra X7 368H Panther Lake chip-and most importantly, it still starts with 16 GB of RAM.

The smaller 13-inch model is where things get tricky. Despite its starting price of $1,200, the configuration only comes with 8 GB of RAM. Don’t get too carried away with the price, as business PCs always come with a premium price tag. The basic RAM is what raises eyebrows. Unlike the new Dell XPS 13, Microsoft isn’t cheating on this with a smaller chassis and a bigger screen — it’s just giving you less computing power and calling it good.

And to be fair, this 8 GB “optional” model is coming at the end of this year, different from 16 GB and 24 GB. But it’s hard to imagine Microsoft being ready to sell an 8 GB laptop in 2026 if Apple hadn’t paved the way. Although there is no 2025 Surface Laptop 13 for Business to compare directly, the consumer version of the Surface Laptop 13 started with 16 GB of RAM. This sounds like a straightforward download.
