England T20 World Cup squad to join camp with British Army for home matches

England’s squad for this summer’s Women’s T20 World Cup will skip the domestic round this weekend for a camp with the British Army.

The 15-strong team will spend the weekend on a program “focused on decision-making, resilience and delivering high performance when the pressure is on”, management said.

The trip, to an undisclosed location in the UK, comes a week before the team’s first international of the summer – the first of three one-day internationals against New Zealand on Sunday, May 10.

Three T20Is against the White Ferns were followed by three more T20Is against India. England’s World Cup campaign begins on June 12 against Sri Lanka.

“We are extremely fortunate to be able to send our newly selected World Cup squad to one of the best high-performance environments in the world,” said Clare Connor, England and Wales Cricket Board’s managing director of women’s cricket.

“I am confident that what the players will experience and learn over the next few days will be invaluable when performing under some of the pressure that the home World Cup will undoubtedly bring.”
