England beat Costa Rica with a hat-trick in the World Cup final dress rehearsal

England secured a morale-boosting 3-0 win over Costa Rica in their home clash in the United States, the Three Lions’ final test ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

The England team is playing in the 12th group with Croatia, Ghana and Panama, and the Costa Rica team did not qualify for the World Cup.

The start of the meeting was delayed for about an hour due to a thunderstorm.

Declan Rice (10th minute), Anthony Gordon from the penalty spot (68th minute) and Ollie Watkins (87th minute) scored for the Three Lions.

A penalty awarded to Barcelona rookie Anthony Gordon in the final minutes of the first half was canceled by video technology.

The Three Lions kick off their 2026 World Cup campaign by taking on their counterpart Croatia on June 17.
