The Egyptian team played against Australia in the round of 32 on Friday in Dallas in a tournament organized by Canada, Mexico and the United States.

“A father and his son went to take pictures with Ibrahim Hassan and Trezeguet, and the head of the national team accepted the request,” Egyptian media Mohamed Morad told Reuters.

“However, the security guard intervened and pushed the fan, as well as Trezeguet and Ibrahim Hassan, even though the player and the team manager were in their designated area. Ibrahim asked the security officer to deal with the fans properly.”

The Dallas Police Department (DPD) says it is aware of a video circulating on social media showing people arguing with one of the officers.

“Dallas police responded to a local hotel after being contacted by hotel security about a person with no identification wanted to check in,” a statement posted on social media said.

“Later it was discovered that the people were not showing the proper qualifications, which are important.

“The matter was resolved immediately, and DPD met with representatives of the group to address their concerns. The matter has been resolved.”
