Brazil midfielder Ederson has signed a contract extension at Atlanta after his proposed move to Manchester United fell through.
The Old Trafford club agreed a £35m fee for the 27-year-old on 2 June.
A plan to treat him in early July was scrapped when Ederson received a late call-up to his country’s World Cup squad due to Wesley’s injury.
He eventually underwent a full medical after initial tests in the US identified an area of concern.
Ederson flew to England for the necessary tests, which took place in Brazil. Norway lost to the last sixteen of the World Cup.
Specialists were involved and the result was that United withdrew from the transfer.
However, sources have told BBC Sport of the deal May resurface later in the summerAlthough on different terms, the player has now extended his contract with Atlanta.
The Serie A side have not announced the length of his new contract.
Michael Carrick’s men have recently signed midfielders Yuri Tielemans And Andre Santos from Aston Villa and Chelsea respectively, as well as goalkeeper Karl Darlow from Leeds United.
