E Ink’s next amazing digital pen jumps onto the screen

Marvel has announced a new paper tablet today – albeit one without the high-end features that have been available recently Paper Pro and Paper Pro Mov pills. The Remarkable Paper Pure instead features an enhanced black and white E Ink feature found in Remarkable 2 which was launched six years ago, and skips any lighting. Thanks to the new display and under-the-hood upgrades, the company says the Paper Pure is twice as fast for “moving, scrolling, and turning pages” compared to 2 surprises.

The Remarkable Paper Pure is available to order today for $399 via the company’s online storeand shipping is expected to begin in early June. That’s the same price as the Marvelous 2, which the Paper Pure will replace, and cheaper than the $449 Paper Pro Move and $629 Paper Pro tablets.

Paper Pure will also be available as part of a more expensive bundle for $449 that adds an elevated pen with a dedicated erase button on the end and a Sleeve Folio case in aqua blue, dark green, and desert pink. Optional subscriptions for $3.99/month or $39/year Subscriptions are also available, adding unlimited cloud storage and advanced tools such as editing notes in Remarkable software, searching for handwritten notes, and sending documents directly to services like Slack.

Paper Pure’s 10.3-inch third-party Canvas E Ink printer is similar in size and shape to the Remarkable 2’s, but the company calls it “very clean.” It’s based on E Ink’s Carta 1300 display, which offers better contrast and hair speed. The tablet itself is shorter and slightly taller than the 2 Marvel at 6mm, but it weighs 360 grams, while its predecessor was about 404 grams.

Some of the weight savings come from the plastic rear cover which is now attached with screws and bolts to make maintenance easier. However, the Paper Pure uses a larger 3,820mAh battery that the company claims can last up to three weeks on a charge when used for about an hour a day. The Tablet Pen also requires charging as it uses the same pen as Remarkable’s color screen devices, but is powered when it is magnetically attached to the side of the Paper Pure.

Along with the hardware refresh comes some software updates, but this isn’t just for Paper Pure. Remarkable Tablets can connect to Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook to create meeting notes that are filled with information about the time of the call. Documents imported from Word, or pages imported from Chrome or the Remarkable app, can also be converted into Remarkable notebooks, allowing them to be edited and edited and optimized.
