Saudi journalist Walid Al-Faraj sent a mysterious message regarding the elections of the Saudi Arabian Football Association, which are scheduled to be held in the near future.
Former Saudi Arabian Football Federation president Yasser Al-Meshal has announced his resignation after Saudi Arabia’s national team bowed out of the 2026 World Cup in America, Canada and Mexico, bottom of Group Eight.
The special election committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation has announced that the next August 30 will be the day of the election by holding an extraordinary general meeting.
Al-Faraj posted a tweet on his official page on the “X” website, in which he wrote: “Presidency and membership of the Saudi Arabian Football Association is a dream, an honor and an aspiration, but it is not valid for anyone. My advice to the dreamers, the ambitious and the enthusiastic. to dream, but with limits.”
This comes a day before the opening of nominations for members of the Saudi Arabian Football Association’s board of directors, which will continue until Saturday, August 1.
Notably, Yasser Al-Meshal took charge of the Saudi Arabian Football Association in 2019 and the Saudi national team failed to win any titles under him, while the most notable achievement was qualifying for the World Cup twice before exiting at the group stage.
