“Double blow”. Real Madrid has officially signed a new contract

James Pradilla joined Real Madrid after Real Madrid paid the €1.5m release clause in his contract with Valencia Basket, a deal that was a double whammy for the Madrid club, securing the services of one of Spanish basketball’s hottest young talents while undermining its direct rival in the Spanish league.

The Spanish newspaper AS reported that the 25-year-old player officially signed a 5-year contract with the Madrid club.

Pradilla, who plays in the attacking position, is considered a promising talent for Spanish basketball, present and future, as he embodies one of the players of the Spanish national team who represents a link with the successful previous generation that won two World Cups and multiple European Championships.

Pradella will be reunited with coach Pedro Martinez, who also moved from Valencia to Real Madrid this summer, a move that increases the speedster’s chances of integrating with the Royals.

Pradilla’s contract ran until 2028 and was extended and improved last February in an attempt by the Valencia administration to calm rumors about his future. However, Real Madrid’s insistence on including the player and paying the release clause decided the matter in favor of the Royals.

With this deal, Real Madrid continue to strengthen their ranks in preparation for the new season, relying on a combination of experience and youth, as Pradella represents a promising young face to carry the club’s hopes in the coming years.
