Dominik Soboszlai has signed a long-term contract at Liverpool.

Sky Sports News The 25-year-old is understood to have signed a five-year deal which runs until the summer of 2031. He had two years left on his previous contract.

Talks between Richard Hughes and Soboszlai’s representatives have accelerated in recent weeks.

Soboszlai’s desire to commit his long-term future to Liverpool was evident during discussions with both the player and his representatives.

Liverpool believe Soboszlai has become an integral and increasingly influential player for them since joining from RB Leipzig in July 2023.

The Hungary international was a key member of Liverpool’s title-winning side of 2024/25 and was the club’s player of the year last season.

“Maybe this is my biggest day,” Soboszlai said Liverpoolfc.com. “There’s a couple in front of it – probably when I signed for Liverpool, the first one, and when I had my kids, of course. But in my football career, I’d say it’s in the top three.

“Very happy. (I) can’t wait to go back. I’m happy to be here, as I’ve said many times.

“There’s always more to come… I’m happy with myself but I think I can do better. I think that’s why I’m sitting here, because it pushed me from a young age: that it was never enough, and I’m thinking the same now.

“I want to set an example. I want to be an example to everyone as much as I can.

“When I signed, I said I want to win everything. That hasn’t changed for a single moment. It remains the same: I want to win everything possible in this country, let’s say the Champions League. I’m ready to go for it.”
