Morocco has become an attractive destination for many dual-nationality players
Morocco’s football federation has managed to kidnap young French talent Ayoub Bouadi (18 years old), according to a Spanish press release, as the player decided to represent the Atlas Lions instead of the French national team, for which he has been playing in the youth categories until now.
Spanish newspaper AS have confirmed that Bouadi, who impressed everyone last season with his performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League, has decided to play for the country of his family rather than the country of his birth.

The Madrid newspaper considered the deal to be a “colossal coup, very similar to the previous one with Brahim Diaz, who Morocco managed to convince to play for the Atlas Lions (instead of Spain).
With this decision, Ayoub Bouadi became available to participate in the 2026 World Cup, which is considered a new quality deal that will significantly increase the level of the Moroccan national team, reports AS.
“In recent years, Morocco has become a footballing power capable of competing with major countries, attracting the best Moroccan dual-citizenship talent from around the world, as the Moroccan national team has become an attractive, ambitious and highly competitive destination for young dual-national players.”
