Dewey Lake: Gloucester-bound hooker to captain Wales for summer Tests

Wales have named hooker Dewey Lake as captain alongside fit-again flanker Jack Morgan for their summer internationals.

Lake led the side in eight Tests in the 2025 autumn series and the 2026 Six Nations when Morgan was injured.

The British and Irish Lions flanker captained Wales in the first game of the Steve Tandy era against Argentina but dislocated his left shoulder during the try.

The Gloucester-bound Ospreys have both been named in the squad for the summer internationals starting against the Barbarians at Twickenham’s Allianz Stadium on Saturday, and Lake will captain them.

“It’s always a huge honor to captain Wales,” he said.

“We’ve got an incredible leadership group and we’re full of leaders – Dafydd Jenkins, Jack, Toms Williams, Josh Adams – so it’s not a job I’ll be doing alone.”
