Al-Hussein Amouta began to outline the specifics of his project at Al-Ahly when he made his first technical decisions, in a message that reflected his desire to assess all members of the team before settling any case involving the departures, even before he arrived in the Egyptian capital.
Reporter Ahmed Schubert has revealed that Amuta has informed Al-Ahly officials of his refusal to let go of midfielder Ahmed Reda at the moment, preferring to give him a full chance in the pre-season before making a final decision on his future.
The decision comes as a surprise at Al-Ahly, especially as things were looking to stabilize after spending last season on loan after leaving National Bank.
Schubert explained on his Sport FM radio show that the position pleased Ahmed Reda, who insisted on staying at Al-Ahly, after earlier being surprised by his departure from the team’s accounts and an approach to leave on loan.

Schubert added that Amouta will arrive in Cairo tonight accompanied by his entire technical staff, noting that the Moroccan coach has a strong personality and great discipline, and is widely praised by players and administrators who have worked with him in the past.
Schubert noted that Al-Ahly will officially introduce Amuta at a press conference tomorrow, before the new technical director conducts the team’s first training session immediately after the conference.
He concluded that Al-Ahly management had informed Amuta of all the details regarding the team before his arrival and the coach’s agent had earlier visited the club’s headquarters to familiarize himself with various organizational and technical aspects in preparation for the official start of the mission.
Al-Ahly went away last season without winning a title despite a strong support, while finishing third in the Egyptian league.
