De Lafuente. I reject the comparison of Yamal with Messi and Maradona

The head coach of the Spanish national team, Luis de Lafuente, warned against the mistake of comparing the young star Yamal blames soccer legends like Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona.

Spain will face their Saudi counterpart in Atlanta in the second round of Group H after being trapped in a goalless draw against Cape Verde in their first World Cup game, a clash in which Yamal came on as a last-minute substitute due to not being fully fit.

Yamal came on in the 71st minute against Cape Verde as Spain struggled to break down the opposition’s defense as the player continues to recover from a muscle injury sustained last April.

He concluded. “We have a very healthy atmosphere and everyone knows how important every player on the roster is. We fully understand Yamal’s role and so do his teammates.”
