Danish coach admits mistake in Eriksen’s horrific fall

Denmark coach Brian Reimer spoke about Christian Eriksen’s sudden fall in a friendly match against Ukraine, as a result of which the match was canceled as part of Ukraine’s preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

Denmark led Ukraine 2-1 but Eriksen felt pain and grabbed his chest when he suddenly fell unconscious.

Remer told the details of the last minutes before the collapse, where he said: “Cristian waved to his teammates as he left the pitch and minutes before the collapse, he got into an argument with Ruslan Malinovski… I thought that was the reason he was affected, but I was wrong.”

In the statements of the British “Mirror” newspaper, he added: “From that moment, neither I nor the players could finish the match.”

The Danish coach told about his special relationship with his playmaker. “I can’t wait to see him again. As soon as there is an opportunity, I will go. I need to see him and talk to him. He is a very dear person to me.”

“There are players I bond with more than others and he was one of them because of his experience. We worked together in the national team. I have a close relationship with him and I know him well, so it affects me a lot.”

The incident occurred as Eriksen clutched his chest before he suddenly lost consciousness, in a scene reminiscent of his famous collapse against Finland five years ago.
