Dame Penelope Keith: The Good Life actress dies aged 86

Actress Dame Penelope Keith, best known for her roles in classic British sitcoms The Good Life and To The Manor Born, has died aged 86.

A statement released by her family on Monday said: “We are deeply saddened to announce that Dame Penelope Keith has passed away peacefully at her Surrey home of more than 50 years after a battle with cancer.

“Her family is grateful for her care and support during her treatment, and asks for their privacy at this time.”

She played the well snobbish neighbor Margo Leadbetter, as well as the former woman in the manor Audrey fforbes-Hamilton Born to Manor.
