Except it wasn’t Bewley behind the change. His account was hacked.
Bewley is one of the gay creators OnlyFans WIRED spoke to who experienced the latest crypto scam on X, where attackers are trying to extort money from creators to restore their accounts. In some cases, when they refused to cooperate, their accounts were filled with cryptographic notes, or, as with Bewley, MAGA propaganda.
On April 9, Bewley received a DM on X from a co-worker, porn director and editor Jasun Mark, whose account had already been hacked, although Bewley didn’t know it at the time. The message, which asked Bewley to nominate Mark for the award, seemed harmless because “it sounded like something he would do,” he says. The link that Marko sent sent Bewley back to X’s website which asked for login information “but nothing takes, or so I thought.” Bewley went about her day and later, when Mark informed her that he hadn’t sent a DM about the award nomination, she went to check her page and it was gone.
By tricking Bewley into clicking a fake link, the attacker was able to change the name, phone number, and email address on Bewley’s account. The handle was first changed to @DADDYPATRIOzvu, and a day later, on April 10, to @Fatherokdwcjo63.
Bewley’s friend immediately reported X’s hack from his account, saying it had been stolen. Then something strange happened: The story went into “crazy MAGA mode,” says Bewley. The banner and avatar were changed to a threatening image of Steve Bannon that announced WarRoom.org, the official website of his political podcast, and linktree to Bannon’s various platformsincluding TikTok, Telegram, the store, and the official website.
On April 16, a week after the first attack, whoever hacked Bewley’s account posted a photo on Donald Trump’s X account, which read “GOOD MORNING, I AM YOUR PRESIDENT.” At the bottom of the post, Bewley’s friend, Jerry Burt, asked how to get the account back. “Just pay. That’s all,” the hacker wrote in a series of screenshots reviewed by WIRED. Do you want this account or not?

When Bewley refused to pay, the attacker sent his boss, Ducati Studios Network, a gay porn company where he recently joined as CMO, demanding $3,000 in crypto.
Bewley’s friend stopped participating after about two weeks of returning. The article “began to push the spread of pro-MAGA propaganda,” Burt says, retweeting between 20 and 30 per day from extreme Republican sites like it. @MAGAVoicea book called “Proud Patriot Elon Musk” account that wants to “take back OUR country.”
The loss of this account has been a huge blow to the Bewley brand. A large number of followers, especially on X, gives the impression that you are a player among the big crowd. “In a way, it says who might want to work with you,” Bewley tells WIRED. “It’s one platform that people see as a measure of where you are, almost as a position. And everyone wants to work with you if you have 100,000 followers. You trust yourself.” WIRED contacted the account that appears to be connected to Bewley’s hack but did not receive a response.
