Brazilian star Rafinha’s career at the World Cup came to a bitter end after the samba dancers had a bye, losing 2-1 to Norway in the round of 16.
The newspaper reported.Sports“Raffinha arrived at the World Cup as one of Brazil’s most prominent attacking pillars, but the muscle injury he suffered during the group stage greatly affected his participation.
Rafinha was forced to leave the match against Haiti in the second round of the group stage after suffering pain in the right hamstring, an injury that initially caused concern in Brazil’s national team camp before medical tests confirmed he had a right hamstring problem.
Although Brazil did not officially rule Rafinha out of the rest of the tournament and the coaching staff worked to speed up his recovery, the Barcelona winger was not given enough time to regain full fitness and played the crucial stage of the tournament far from his best.
The exit to Norway ended Brazil’s World Cup dream after they once again failed to come close to their desired goal.
For Rafinha, this conclusion was even more bitter on a personal level. After a good season with Barcelona, despite physical problems, he entered the World Cup as one of the leaders of the Brazilian project, but the injury came at the worst possible time and stopped his impact in a tournament where he was expected to make a difference.
The Brazilian winger now begins his summer break with the aim of completing his fitness before returning to Barcelona.
The Catalan club will continue to monitor Rafinha’s condition closely after a tournament that ended earlier than expected for him, leaving him feeling that his World Cup career has been affected since his body can no longer carry on.
