Cricket Scotland ‘regrets hurt’ suffered by racism whistleblower


In a statement, Haque said the past 11 years have been “some of the toughest of my life”.

He added: “My experiences, particularly during my playing career, and subsequently the backlash and abuse for speaking out about them have come at a very personal cost to me and my family.

“By withdrawing my court action, I have committed to enable Cricket Scotland to take the steps outlined in their commitment and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Plan, outsider To make our sport inclusive and safe for all participants.

“Nothing can change past experiences or recover lost experiences. I’ve had to learn to live with this problem with unwanted negativity.

“I can only hope that this too can change over time, and we can all move forward together to play our part in the advancement of cricket in Scotland.”
