Craig Bellamy: Noel Mooney expected to stay with head coach Wales


Football Association of Wales chief executive Noel Mooney expects Craig Bellamy to stay on as Wales head coach after his proposed resignation at Burnley fell through.

Bellamy had previously been in advanced talks about taking over at the Championship club The news came out on Thursday That 46-year-old Turf Moor potentially switched off.

Speaking on Friday, Mooney said Bellamy was “absolutely committed” to Wales and the focus was now on this autumn’s Nations League campaign.

“Craig has been fantastic with us. He has promoted us from Nations League B to A and we are looking forward to going to the Nations League this autumn against Portugal, Denmark and Norway”.

“We were unlucky not to get the World Cup on penalty kicks – When you get a penalty kick It’s a lottery.

“We would have loved to be there, but now our focus is on the Nations League and Craig at the helm.”
