What is the Kings League Club World Cup?

The Kings League Club World Cup is the biggest club tournament on the Kings League calendar, bringing together the champions and top teams from all the world’s Kings League tournaments to crown the undisputed world champion of the sport.

Unlike the Nations Cup of Nations, where countries compete against each other, the Club World Cup of Kings pits local clubs from Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Brazil, Mexico and the Middle East and North Africa region in a battle for international glory. The tournament was first held in 2024 and quickly became the pinnacle of club football in the League of Legends system.

For 2026, the tournament has been reduced to 16 teams, with qualification tickets earned through success in domestic leagues and continental cup wins, rather than Wildcard invitations. Defending champions Los Troncos FC return after lifting the trophy in Paris last year, defeating Porcinos FC in the all-Spanish final.

Founded by Gerard Pique, the League of Kings reintroduced football by fusing the traditional seven-a-side style with innovative rules such as secret weapons, game-changing cards and exciting penalty kicks. These unique elements remain at the heart of the Kings League Club World Cup, creating a tournament where every match can change in an instant.

The 2026 tournament will be held in Italy from July 26th to August 1st, with clubs chasing the big prize of League One football and a chance to prove themselves as the best team in the world.

What is the tournament format for the 2026 King’s League Club World Cup?

The 2026 FIFA Club World Cup has a new system featuring 16 teams instead of 32 teams in previous editions. Instead of starting with a direct knockout schedule, each club is guaranteed to play more than one match thanks to the opening Swiss round before the tournament moves to the traditional knockout stage.

Opening stage

The tournament starts with three rounds.

• 1st stage
• 2nd stage
• Last chance round

All 16 teams start in the first round and the draw ensures that they do not face clubs from the same domestic league in the opening match.

Teams that win their opening match move to “Winners Lane” while losing teams go down “Losers Lane”.

In the second round, the clubs that improve their score (2-0) automatically advance to the quarter-finals. Teams that lose (0-2) are eliminated from the competition. The remaining teams then meet in the “Last Chance” stage, where the winners claim the final four spots and the losers go home.

Knockout stage

The remaining eight clubs qualify in a one-off knockout table consisting of:

• Quarter finals
• Semi-final
• Final match

The four clubs that reach the quarter-finals with a perfect record (2-0) are rewarded against the teams that progressed to the “Last Chance” stage, giving them an advantage for their strong start to the tournament.

The winner of the final on August 1 will be crowned the 2026 Champions League Club World Cup.

16 clubs from the seven Royal League competitions have qualified for the 2026 Royal League Club World Cup, earning their spots through domestic league titles, continental cup success and strong performances during the regular season.

• No Rules FC (Germany). Germany’s first ever Kings League champions, No Rolls represent one of the fastest growing markets in the league after impressing during their inaugural German season.
• Karasu (France). Carrasso arrives in Italy as France’s League of Legends champions, having won the country’s first domestic title and becoming France’s main hope of lifting the Club World Cup.
• Alpak FC (Italy). The host country will be represented by the “PAC” team, which was declared the winner (Kings League Italy Split 2). Playing in front of home fans could make them one of the most dangerous teams in the tournament.
