Clapham stabbing: Six arrested for killing 22-year-old man

Six people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 22-year-old man was stabbed to death in Clapham, south-west London, the Metropolitan Police said.

Police were called at 04:37 BST after a man was admitted to hospital with stab wounds. He later died at the hospital, the force said.

The incident is believed to have taken place in the area of ​​Tremadoc Road and Clapham High Street.

He stated that four of the suspects were hospitalized with stab wounds and are undergoing treatment. Although their injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

Along with the four people in the hospital – three aged 22 and one 24 – officers arrested 27 and 23 more people in the hospital on suspicion of murder. They are under police custody.

“I understand that the fatally injured man was stabbed around 04:20,” the Met said. He added that officers were carrying out inquiries around Tremadoc Road and Clapham High Street to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash.

Det Insp Sarah Lee, who is leading the investigation, said everyone in the area would continue to notice an increased police presence throughout Saturday.

The family of the deceased has been informed and is being supported by specialists.

Local police chief Supt Mark Gallacher described the incident as “tragic”.

“We understand that this poses a threat to the local community and special investigators are doing everything they can to find out what happened,” he said.

Citing reference July 1474/25, the Met urged witnesses or people with information about the incident to contact police on 101.
