OhHey, Armie Hammer! Has it come to this? It doesn’t seem that long since you were in an Oscar-winning film Call Me Your Name and giving a free performance opposite Timothée Chalamet. Now you, walking around the streets and parks of Zagreb, shooting Muslims, shooting young people and raising legal judges to protest what your man clearly describes as “the irrational fanaticism of Islamic terrorists and the blind woke up on the left”.
A lot has happened to the former famous actor and grandson of oil tycoon Armand Hammer. His reputation declined after that rape cases by ex-partners in 2021the relationships Hammer maintained were mutual. A robber charges were dropped for lack of evidence, Hammer has now returned to the silver screen – and here he is in a very cheap, inconsistent and embarrassing schlocker, written, produced and directed by the German low-budget maestro Uwe Boll, who eats all kinds of revenge. Most importantly, the film has been uploaded and distributed worldwide on the Internet it’s a big hoax by Elon Musk who like JD Vance is hell-bent on diverting America’s attention from his own interests to a badly thought-out Euro-stan caliphate. It’s another container that overflows the zone.
Hammer plays Sanders, an American ex-soldier who takes over his late father’s kingdom in Croatia. He is very angry about the way immigrants are committing adultery and killing people there. So, using his massive weapons, he wants to kill them all, especially the bandits – along with the crime-advancing ones who let them get away with it. He also wants to kill many police officers in uniform, whose only sin is to arrest him. He posts videos of himself complaining about it, and we get social media around the world saying how great he is.
Citizen Vigilante probably wants to be Michael Winner’s Death Wish or Don Siegel’s Dirty Harry or even Scorsese’s Taxi Driver. But these were films that had, to varying degrees, levels of passion, style, intelligence, purpose, vision and proper production. They hired actors who knew how to use theater. And most of all, they were American, not a European wakester-piñata. If Boll and Musk want to make and promote the production of a film about the establishment, then why not make a serious film about the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump? At this point it’s time for Hammer to return to the commercials that followed before this: sell time in the Cayman Islands.
